The GLOBAL EXCELLENCE AWARD (GEA) is a prestigious international tribute to world-class consumer products and companies, as well as Outstanding Achievers in public service, entertainment and other major professional fields regardless of nationalities worldwide.
GEA is the offshoot of the 15-year old ASIA-PACIFIC AWARDS (APEA) founded in 1993 by Japanese-Chinese educator-writer DR. SEIJI YII-KAGAWA, Australian educator Dean DAVID H. WATSON, university professor URBANO S. REYES, evangelist Rev. SONIA Y. LIM and Filipino civic leader-journalist JONATHAN NAVEA.

The awards-tribute is aimed at motivating consumers products and companies to excel in their respective product or corporate categories towards attaining world-excellence in quality and features, as well as for individual achievers to excel in their chosen fields of endeavor thru public recognition.
AWARDS CRITERIA & EVALUATION
OUTSTANDING CONSUMERS PRODUCTS AND COMPANIES are selected through open public and online IT nomination followed by random consumer survey and research are conducted by the Asia-Pacific Awards Council and the APEA Awards Committee, with the following CRITERIA: (1) Product Features or Quality – 35%; (3) Consumers Opinion Survey – 20%; (2) World-Class Brand Appeal – 25%; and (4) Pricing – 20%
The ASIAN TOP STAR ENTERTAINER AWARD and the ASIAN TOP ACHIEVER AWARD are chosen based on the significant achievements of the individuals in entertainment and other specific fields related to their respective professional categories.

PROJECT BENEFICIARIES
The proceeds of the project will benefit the Youth Scholarship & Livelihood Program and the Cultural Exchange Project of the Asia-Pacific Awards Council (APAC). Corporate and individual sponsorships and donations are also earmarked to finance the preparation of the event, as well as the printing of the Global Excellence Awards Yearbook, airing of the delayed TV special, media promotions and the publication of the newspaper supplements commemorating the event.
